Review of My Last Read — no spoilers, ever!

A fine mix of mildly entertaining to good to very good stories that I understand have been largely out of print since the 1950s - many from scifi masters but also from many I was unfamiliar with. Its fantastic to read stories as if you were handling the old pulp magazines from nearly 80 years ago. My favorites were Catalysis by Poul Anderson; The Almost-Men by Irving E. Cox, Jr; The Outer Quiet by Herbert D. Kastle; and Outpost on Io by Leigh Brackett. If you're an old school scifi fan you can't go wrong with this collection. Get it. Enjoy it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Review of My Last Listen

I didn't even know Paul Giamatti, whom I greatly admire as an actor, had a podcast where he and Stephen Asma dive into discussions of strange and weird topics. Nor did I realize Paul was a fan of H. P. Lovecraft! So when I heard he was reading "The Color Out Of Space" on the podcast (in three easily digestible parts) I was absolutely thrilled to sample it. And he didn't disappoint. It's a great and strange story and Paul's reading is absolutely incomparable. It's far and way the best audio rendition of the story I've ever heard, and Paul's vocal skills really brought it to life and gave emphasis to the really chilling parts of the story in ways previous audio renditions never quite achieved. If you like HPL, or even if you've never read the story, do yourself a favor and get Chinwag through your favorite podcast app, give the story a listen and prepare to be thrilled and engrossed. Enjoy. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
